About Blake

Families, educators, and clinicians often tell me the same thing:
“I just need someone who understands the school system and won’t make me feel stupid for not knowing everything.”

That’s why I built Principal Clarity. My work is simple: I help you understand what’s happening, what your options are, and what the school system is actually trying to say, so you can move forward with calm, confidence, and a plan that makes sense.

Why I Do This Work

I’ve worked inside schools as a teacher, instructional leader, and now a school principal. I’ve spent most of my career in the areas where families and educators feel the most overwhelmed: special education, translating “education-ese,” behavior response, trauma-responsive practices, communication breakdowns, and situations no one prepared you for.

I’m also an AuDHD adult, so I understand overwhelm, masking, analysis paralysis, and the invisible labor families and neurodivergent professionals carry. I know what it’s like to feel lost inside a system that seems to expect perfection before you’re allowed to ask for help.

My work blends professional expertise with lived experience and a belief that everyone deserves clarity and support, not judgment.

Where My Experience Comes From

I’ve spent my career working at the intersection of families, schools, and complex student needs. My background includes:

  • Nearly 20 years in education – Principal, teacher, and instructional leader across multiple settings
  • Extensive work in special education systems, IEPs, 504s, evaluations, and behavior support
  • Trauma-responsive practices and crisis communication
  • Helping families navigate difficult meetings and stalled processes
  • Supporting educators and school teams through conflict, breakdowns, and complicated decisions
  • Training clinicians and wraparound professionals on the “school side” of the work at the building, district, regional, and state level.

I translate school-system complexity into clear, manageable steps.

Why People Trust Me

People tend to come to me when:

  • The situation feels confusing, emotional, or stuck
  • They’re not sure what the school is actually saying
  • Every option seems complicated
  • They’ve tried to communicate but keep hitting walls
  • They’re carrying the weight of the situation alone

My role is to help you understand what’s happening, explain what’s normal and what’s not, and guide you toward the next right step – without panic, and without judgment.

A Personal Note

Every family, educator, and clinician who reaches out is doing their best with the information and support they have. You don’t need perfect paperwork, the perfect story, or the perfect plan before asking for help. You’re allowed to be overwhelmed.

You bring the situation.
I’ll bring clarity, direction, and calm.

When I’m not in schools or on Zoom supporting families & professionals, you’ll usually find me cooking, mushroom hunting, playing hockey, or testing new hot sauce recipes. Staying hands-on and curious outside of work helps me show up present, steady, and human in the moments when people need it most.

Ready When You Are

You don’t have to navigate this alone.
Tell me what’s going on, and I’ll help you figure out the rest.
